Same here. Love the first part best. Sceneires in pool houses and when they waited for the train together, holding hands, in the rain. Hou is still the best at telling original stories of Taiwan.
Love the second part as well, although adjusted a little to the silent movie style. Reminded me of his Flowers Girls from Shang Hai.
Third part is the weakest. Love both of their performances.
yeah, beautiful movie and delicate performances ... their 1966 is somewhat similar to our 80's,and even more innocent ... maybe just because of the distance.
